--> Kicking Bear/Beards Event
Kicking BearThe first part of May, Trevon was blessed to have been invited to the Kicking Bear 1 on 1 Foundations first ever Kicking Beards Pro/Am Turkey Hunt and 3D shoot in Missouri. It was a great event and served as a vital fundraiser for the Kicking Bear organization (www.kickingbear.org) whose whole goal is to impact the children of tomorrow... Showing youth a better way of life while providing them with a weekend of fun to experience new things and meet new friends by mentoring kids and showing them the excitement of the outdoors.

Kicking BearThe structure of this event was to bring in 8-9 "pro's or hunting celebrity's" and 8-9 raffle winners to team up and hunt Missouri turkeys and shoot a great Motion target (Pop-up) 3D course. The invited "pro's" (as seen in the picture) were (left to right) Tom King (Bighorn Outdoors), Bobby Bowen (Outfitter), Chris Parrish (5 time world champion turkey caller), Brooks Johnson (Primos - Double Bull Blinds), Scott Wilhelm (Scheels Sports and Champion Turkey caller), Trev, JT Hardin (Hardcore Hunting TV), Kandi Kisky, Don Kisky (Whitetail Freaks), Heath Painter (Sportsmen of North America).

The turkey hunting was EXTREMELY tough with NOBODY killing a bird but it was still a great time had by all!

Kicking BearTrev also had a blast competing in the 3D tournament (www.motiontargets.com) were everyone got to compete and challenge themselves at a difficult but fun pop up 3D course. Ray Howell and Trev got into a little competition of their own trying to hit a pop can size target at 90 yards and the friendly competition was hilarious (both hit it by the way). Look for more info and video on this great event on an upcoming webisode of Outback Outdoors (www.outbackoutdoors.net)

--> 3D Archery Competition
Trev, as he enjoys doing as much as possible, just competed in a 3D archery competition and was thrilled to finish in the Trevon 3D Archerytop three. It was held in Loveland, CO and the tournament was put on by the BTB. (Big Thompson Bowhunters) Trevon was beaten out by two great shooters who normally shoot in the open class and use a scope with 2X magnification. (Not to bad for a lowly fixed pin bowhunter) Thunderchickens (AKA turkeys) had better watch out!!

---> Hunting Season in Full Swing
Trevon Mountain Goat HuntTrevon's hunting season is in full swing and he has just returned from two great hunts. The first hunt really began more than 7 years ago where he accompanied good friend, Glenn Vlass, on his archery Colorado mountain goat hunt. Trev fell in love with the majestic white mountain goat then and finally drew a tag for the same hunt this year. While the hunt was successful and memorable it was made even more special as his dad was able to accompany him in the high country of the Rocky Mountains capturing the entire hunt on video. He then traveled to Montana to join good buddies Jim Brennan and (Rocket) Ryan Litwin (www.rocketryanoutdoors.com) where he arrowed a great antelope buck that was decoyed in with Montana Decoy's antelope buck decoy. The action, all captured on video, was fast paced and adrenaline pumping as Trevon gained some retribution and payback for the tough archery antelope hunt he endured in Colorado earlier this season. Look for both hunts to air on Muzzy's Bad to the Bone Bowhunting in 2009 on the Outdoor Channel.
